Welcome
Hideaway Farm is located in the Lincolnshire Fens, and is home to Kingmaker Boer and Dairy Goats, owned by Alan and Rachel Middleton-Horner and our 4 young children. Our herd consists of around 20 breeding adults.
We have kept goats for a number of years and have steadily built up small herds of different breeds. Mainly Boer and Cashmere goats for breeding and meat, and Pure Toggenburgs and Golden Guernsey’s for raw goats’ milk. Our emphasis is always on quality healthy stock. Our goat kids are bottle fed by our children and introduced to our other animals, horses, chickens, and dogs from a very early age.
Our goats are turned out to graze on a daily basis and brought in every night. All nannies and does kid in warm stables, where they can have quiet time with their kids, to get the chance to bond in their own space and be safe from predators.
We usually kid around April time and have kids available for sale around June/July. Our kids can either be used as sound breeding stock, as all are registered, or as fattening up for meat. Goat meat is available from September and must be ordered in advance.
We keep our own billys and bucks which are available at stud and all our males are chosen with type and temperament in mind. Our females have excellent temperaments and produce beautiful kids.
All our stock is CAE tested clear, wormed and vaccinated. Our kids leave fully vaccinated and wormed, and their feet are trimmed prior to leaving. New owners receive a copy of the pedigree, the CAE certificate, and British Goat Society Registration where appropriate. Our goats are very much part of our family and we welcome goat visitors by arrangement. We are always happy to help the new owner on their journey into the wonderful world of goats!
